KWR Watercycle Research Institute
KWR aims at providing the water sector with the means to identify and effectively meet the challenges of our time by creating the best available scientific knowledge. Urgent challenges are for example the effects of climate change, demographic changes, urbanisation, and water distribution networks.
KWR's research programme consists of fundamental, applied and technological research and it includes the entire water cycle, ranging from water sources, water treatment, distribution, sanitation, wastewater, industrial processes, and health related issues – to ecosystem-water interaction, nature conservation and water management. The research programme is structured along four society-inspired themes: Health, Sustainability, Advancement and Efficiency.
KWR conducts its research for organisations involved in the water cycle, such as water companies, water boards, municipalities, industry, and regional and national government.
Whenever possible KWR collaborates with other leading (inter)national research institutes and with (industrial) partners in the water sector. It coordinates the EU Water Research Programme TECHNEAU and is one of the founders of the European Water Cycle Research Institute.

NAGAOKA International Corporation
NAGAOKA International Corporation is one of the most leading Engineering and Consulting firm to provide total solution for water intake, purification and treatment. Our technologies accumulated through rich and long experience in groundwater intake will solve various water problems, and beneficial to rural or small-scale Waterworks Services for sustainable supply of safe drinking water from groundwater available nearby.
NAGAOKA focuses three major fields of "Energy, Water and Ecology", and our core product is Wedge Wire Screen used widely in oil refinery and petrochemical industries. This technology has been extended to water intake from underground wells, infiltration galleries, underground dam etc.
NAGAOKA's Water Technology using Screens for Groundwater intake is standardized in Japan and adopted in "Waterworks Design Instructions (Ver. 2000)". NAGAOKA then developed ecological means of groundwater treatment. The system is for removal of high concentration Iron, Manganese, Ammonia Nitrogen etc. at extremely higher speed than conventional rapid sand filtration without injecting chemicals. The System is named "CHEMILES" and many are successfully operated in various cities and towns.
Combination of Screen and "CHEMILES" is promising solutions for rural or small-scale waterworks services as is economical and free from chemical control. NAGAOKA is successful in China and now expanding to Asia, and globally where safe water is needed.
With our co-operative group members, we are extending our services totally from water intake, biological treatment, purification by membrane technology up to waste water disposal. NAGAOKA continues to move forward for contribution to the world in terms of safe potable water services. |
